Imagine getting that sort of pattern in July. It'd be mid to low 60s with rain almost everyday the first three weeks, and then 100 degree heat with 70 degree dewpoints the last few days. Nasty

Most trees here have buds now, some cherries/sloes are blossoming, crocuses and camellias are flowering.

Same in NYC, except the camellias, they aren't common so I don't know how they're progressing.

A good portion of trees here are blooming; first cherries started in Jan then the maples followed. Now the Bradford pears have started as have many oaks, bald cypress swamps have come to life also. 1 week from now things will look very crazy and at this pace full leaf out by March 10... I'm scared... please no late season freezes because it's too late now....

No signs of spring yet, last February was actually warmer at this pace. But with the titanic heat wave next week I'm pretty sure we're gonna work up massive anomalies and even get some early signs of spring. Shockingly Binghamton has not dropped below 1f this winter! That is astonishing! I think our average low in February 2015 was something like 4f, so this is quite an accomplishment

Our coldest low (3 F) was recorded in December this season.

I would love for everyone's gleefulness about this warm weather to be eviscerated later this spring by a record breaking cold snap.

For us in the south that would be economically devestating... no thanks, peach trees are a bloomin.... strawberries get picked in mid April and probably earlier this year... for farmers this would be like katrina+chernobyl.

These early season warm ups sometimes end up in a devastating frost or cold snap. It would actually be better for it not to warm up so soon.
