Except for some patches and piles, most of the snow is gone here.

Nice day here...49 F/9 C and sunny. Refreshingly cool. Thursday is expected to get up to 67 F/19 C. Ski season will probably have an early end.

If today was our average winter day, I would not complain. I wonder if it will be possible to grow jacarandas in New York one day. Cant see it happeneing anytime soon sadly

Lol let's not get ahead of ourselves. No matter how warm it gets, we'll always have that ice box to our north occasionally unleashing its power.

Going to be 65 on Thursday here! Been weird with the warmth lately and still having snow on the ground, was in the backyard this morning and it was still around 4 inches deep!

I thought they were from South America, although they can probably grow in southern fringes of North America (parts of Mexico, Florida, etc.).

Jacaranda sounds like a native Guarani name, so it's probably from Brazil

They're found throughout Central America and the Caribbean (and the Bahamas) in addition to South America. The most popular species is Jacaranda mimosifolia, and it's native to southern South America, but there's about 50 different species.

You are correct on such a point, no matter how much warmer this whole country gets, there will most likely always be cool or cold spells of weather
