30s are pretty moderate winter temperatures IMO. Today felt so nice after sweating from the warmth and humidity yesterday. Never thought I would be dealing with that in February.

I think that Southeast ridge will develop into a powerhouse soon

Hopefully it does, our warmest April on record is a mere +4 degrees above average while the coldest is like -11. Def. think it's time for a really warm April. Though the upcoming warmth will be out west? Just like last year?

Why do I keep having a deja vu that this spring and summer might well be a repeat performance of 2012,!this year so far and according to that map,we may have already surpassed 2012 in terms of warmth; I really am hopeful that this spring and summer isn't a carbon copy of that year, but as this sort of weather continues I am increasingly having my hopes dashedI can now safely say that in one way or another, that this year will be different than 2012.......but how???? I just might have to consider the fact that this year just might set a new temperature record in Indianapolis for the warmest year on record for my location, but by how much is a matter of much debate, we shall see.........

Idk man, you do you, but I love the 50s and 60s in the winter. I agree that what we had on Friday was too much, it was nice weather, but I'd rather save those 70s for spring. Having 70s in winter feels like putting the pumpkin pie ahead of the collard greens. Or going straight to the hotel room with a girl without going on a date first. Winter should be 50s and 60s imo

I'm fine with 50s in the winter if it's rainy, otherwise it should wait until April and May.

I hope not. Although winter 2012 was above average and relatively snowless, I don't recall any crazy warmth until spring (March). June was a memorably pleasant month here, but the rest of the summer was pretty hot.

I'm still waiting for an April 2007 repeat. Even colder would be better.

The only 2012 parallel that I see is the tendency to want to dryout the Central US, but the current drought conditions are way behind 2012, and more importantly, is the likelihood of an El Nino coming this summer. If that occurs, you won't see anything like 2012. In fact, odds are greater to see a wetter and cooler summer for eastern CONUS if it happens.

Summer is still 3 months away. As for spring. It looks warm just about everywhere

2009 was an El Nino summer but what caused us to be so cool was the very wet spring and then the consistent +PNA during the summer. Unfortunately, most of the analog summers look cool (1992, 2004, 2009) though some like 1991 and 1999 were hot. I thin it depends on how fast and how strong El Nino comes, if it does happen.
