Looks like Ahmedabad reached 49C on Wednesday, which (if true) should be an all-time record there, and also the hottest temperature ever recorded for a city of its size, par Baghdad which has a population of 7M and has reached 51C before.
Holy **** it reached 50C the next day, another all-time record, and a top 5 occurrence for India. I wonder how that feels in a city of 7M people under the full sun and smog.
Our max that month was 92F. The heat at the end of May 2011 (we hit 91F on the 31st) is more memorable to me, I guess because spring had been cooler that year.
