I see a couple of potential reasons.

Binghamton had winds shift from the North while the closet station Elmira was variable.
Also, Binghamton had some clouds around so maybe it blocked the sun for just enough to prevent as quick a warm up as Elmira?

Elevation is 1600 vs 1000 so not that much of a difference with these 2 but 600 feet can still make a difference in at least 1-2 degrees

Ithaca is closer in temp actually. Currently 70 in Ithaca. 69 at BGM. So not that big of a deal.

See anything with this loop past couple hours? Not the big spinning storm in the West. Look towards Hudson Bay. See the milky white strip of clouds? that's moisture and that's a digging Jet Stream which is coming to Northeast U.S Next 4 days. Notice the storm over Kentucky too.

So expect Clouds, periods or showers, and coolish Sat-Tuesday. Then once that leaves.....SUMMER

See it now?

Oh interesting. I thought it had to do with the altitude

Elmira seems like the warmest place in Upstate NY. In July it's a degree warmer than Rochester or Syracuse and 2.5 degrees warmer than Buffalo. Also one of the few places in Upstate NY where the average highs stay above freezing in January

Its been summer there since March when you were getting upper 80s already. Lol. I dont want to think about it. It makes me crazy to think about that.

Low-mid 70s here with Sun and I started getting edgy.

Wish sunny days werent so hot. Rather it be sunny then cloudy

How much rain do you have so far? I assume you have a gauge? I forget.

Looks like the airport has just under 1 inch from 2-6pm. Rain almost done but missing past hours worth. Doubt 2+ fell like GFS showed.
