My rule of thumb will always stand.

In a cool pattern don't believe the warmth shown in long range. Vise versa. In a very warm pattern, don't believe the cold shown in the long range. Until we get closer in time like within 5 days out.

This new cooler pattern is only 5 weeks old.

I was going to say the same exact thing. I've seen this with the Euro and it was a total bust just a few weeks ago. I'm with you. Not likely until we see real change for days with above avg temps.

I rarely side with the CFS but since my gut is feeling that, I choose CFS is better picking things up. I didn't check the overnight runs but I believe Euro Ensembles and GFS also agreeing with the CFS. I need to check the Canadian today

Hard to go against the model that overall does better though. We'll see.

New York city running more than 10 degrees below average this may so far, they won't finish with that departures though but it could still easily finish as one of the coolest mays on record.

I'm going to wait and see what the Canadian and GFS are saying too!

We went from three days with thunderstorms predicted to one "night" predicted with 20% showers I hope we're not stuck in a bull**** dry pattern again this year.

Enjoying the luck of the draw while I can. But Just cloudied up and I see why. Ugh. Why do I have to be on the edge?? lol

Interesting cloud movement in Minnesota.

I'd gladly take your rain away from you. This time of year the sun is so strong that a ten-day dry period already has browning grass (I see plenty of brown grass around here now) and I see only a minuscule chance of rain for the next ten days.

Days since we were last seasonable or below average: 15

Let's just keep in mind that departures over +/-4 are like really rare this time of year guys. Like really ****ing rare. Only one June since 1960 had a departure of 4.0 or more (June 1966 with a straight +4.0). -6.0 departure for NYC is ****ing unbelievable and this sort of thing should not be happening! If this was January or February it would be like 1976-1979 all over again!

I'm not worried about the rain, more about the below average temperatures that come with it. Rain between April and June sinks the temperatures. Wish we would get this sort of rain in the winter
