Between a dropping Negative AO.
A Positive PNA..

March should not be "Spring Like" in the East and should feature stormy weather to continue which means either snowstorms or rain storms which means clouds/rain will hold temps down as well.

The 3 things working against a cool below normal March are...

NAO seems to be just Neutral
Stratosphere has dropped back down to record cold levels.
MJO looks to either be heading to Phase 1 or back in the circle for March

MJO heading to Phase 8, 1 or back in the circle for March which favors seasonable temps in the East and a 50/50 chance of dry or wet patterns.

Still dont get it. Today you want it exceptionally cold, tomorrow exceptionally warm. Where is the middle??

Dont get how someone can switch like that so fast. One or the other cant be too real then.

Like maybe you dont want extreme cold beginning of March and instead prefer it seasonable then switch to extreme warm end of March through the summer?

I'm digging that much below average March, that means 80s **** off for the most part for another month . If these predictions come to be true, it would be very similar to Spring 2013. A cool March and May, and a warm April.

I can see why you want a cool March in Florida, 80s in March is too crazy. 60s-70s everyday in March would be perfect

I don't mind early March being either cold and snow or sunny and mild (just like Thanksgiving week), but by the third week in March I'm ready for warmer weather. Days are longer, and there is signs of vegetation growth.... I definitely don't want spring to be below average. At the very least average. Would prefer 2C above our averages, just because I feel that Chicago gets a late start at spring thanks to the icy waters of Lake Michigan.

March 2013 was very cool here. The average high was 56, with most days having highs between 48 and 62. I'm not sure I've ever seen a March that was consistently cool like that month was. It was disappointing, though, because we didn't get any snow (bar an extremely light flurry for about 10 minutes around the 5th). I'd be okay with a repeat, but if we're gonna have a cold March, I'd prefer one like 2014, with more variation and some frozen precipitation. However, there was a rain sleet mix on April 4, 2013, which is the only time I've seen frozen precipitation in April in my area.

I imagine March 1969 was one of the best Marches in my area. There was 9" of snow on the 1st, and highs were mostly in the 40s to start the month, with gradual warming to highs in the 60s at the end of the month.
March 1960 also looks good, but I wouldn't want that level of cold (average temp 47/28) or snow (14") every March.
