Next year will be a la nina year, la ninas bring warmth in winter, especially to the southeastern us. a large persistent ridge normally forms in warm la nina years. look at winter 1998-99, nice warm winter.

^^Nice snow storm.

I don't believe Pittsburgh and Erie will be seeing single digits like the GFS predicts, but in any case it will be a pretty awesome cold snap for this time of year...

Definitely interesting. If there's snowcover they might get to mid teens but I agree, single digits? GFS is drunk

I am so glad we haven't had that bunch of nonsense. No matter what the "facts" say, to me, once it's spring, WINTER IS OVER and it should act like it. If I wanted a roller coaster I'd go to Six Flags. We have had a few nights where it got down to 37'F instead of the 50'F it was supposed to do, even that didn't sit well with me, but it's sure better than this.

Been since 2003 in Landcaster, PA. Think about that... many areas havent seen measureable snow in April in 13yrs! That means no kids have seen it.

I'm grateful the snow has missed us. I think that would've been the first or second time in my life it snowed in April where I live. I'm pretty sure that northern Baltimore country (maybe 20 minutes from the PA line) got some snow, though. Hopefully the damage isn't too terrible.
