Pleasant this morning 57°F and breezy

Chicopee reached 64°F sometime between midnight and 1 am during the thunderstorm. Dewpoint down to 52°F from a high of 60°F. Total precipitation 1.93 inches since late Tuesday. Flood warning in the hilly areas to the west, small streams must have raised their levels a lot. Westfield River is near flood stage.

In the White Mountains, by Mt. Washington:

The bulk of the rain has passed but expect fog, rain showers and even the threat of a passing thunderstorm to continue through the afternoon. 2″ (5cm) of rain was collected at Hermit Lake in the past 24 hours. Currently summit temperature is 37F. Temperatures will begin to drop later today as a cold front passes through the area with an increase in wind speeds this afternoon. Air temperatures are not expected to reach the freezing point on the summit until sundown which will begin to refreeze our snowpack and reduce the threat of wet avalanche activity through the night. Snow showers should develop overnight with 1-3″ new snow possible.

This sounds exciting to watch

. Ice dams in the more sizable drainage channels such as the Lip waterfall in the Headwall of Tuckerman Ravine have a history of stopping up and blowing out in sizable wet avalanches.

Woah they raised the forecast again, this time Sunday-Tuesday

Last January-March period we've had just nine days of 40F or above. This year we've already had ten...in February alone! So if it feels like spring is coming two months earlier this year, it's because it actually is

Went for a walk this morning, felt great. Birds thought it was spring. Was thinking how completely different it was last year. Frustrating it's going to go back, but this weekend looks good.

Was absolutely wild this morning from 4:30-8:00ish in Aurora/Amherst, ME! Thunder, lightening, rain and wind!
At one time at the general store a fellow stopped by to get some diesel (the pump is out separate from the regular gas pumps), and I had to run to the register to authorize his use. When I looked outside there was lightening all around the diesel tank! Current conditions - Cloudy 52F degrees, Wind East 15mph, Dew point 51F degrees, pressure 29.27 increasing.

NYC has a T-Storm Warning now.

hearing reports of trees and tractor trailors blown over in Southern NY

Yeah, those spring-summer days in winter, wich feel really bad because the body isn't prepared for such outplaced anomaly in the middle of the winter. Since the winter here is much more mild than yours, those days are usually in the 80s and even the 90s!

I don't know where you're getting your stats but here, I count thirteen 40° F or greater days so far.
