High of 45 F today with mostly cloudy skies.

I've noticed the forecast for Valentines Day trending warmer. Now only a morning low of 26 F followed by a high of 47 F. Has the forecast for the 14th been trending warmer for the Northeast as well?

No, I've been tracking WU forecasts for LI and the Adirondacks, and on the contrary they've been trending colder. Islip down from 8F to 0F during past 3 days. Would set a monthly record. Lake Placid down from -14F to -21F. Hopefully it plays out. Would love to see some records broken. Also would love to be there (though luckily next weekend I'll likely be up at 3000m experiencing such temps anyways).

Weird yesterday the forecasts put us at 14 today 17. We trended warmer and everyone colder. Maybe the polar vortex then shifted west and a little north? Which led to colder anomalies in the north and west???

Very interesting conversation regarding the forecast trends. Mine went down as well but havent truely been following closely.

By your comments something tells me that the Jet Stream isnt going as deep with the cold air but is staying status quo for Ohio Valley & Northeast. I was busy today. Need to post some stuff. Too tired now
