Photos from yesterday evening. Rainstorm had passed and it cleared up nicely. Had a great, fresh after the rain smell. Some stations reported 0.8" in less than an hour. Around 6:30-7 pm. Looking east back at the storm clouds.

Around 8 pm. Looking back east:

West was hard to get a photo of:

more to the east:

just past sunset, smelled really nice.

Is this bike path an ancient railway? They did that with a lot of unused railroads over here, though paths are often unpaved. Nice light just before sunset!

Can I vote for both?

Nice's Notre Dame. Looks an awful lot like the one in Paris. It was built in neogothic style after the annexation of the county of Nice to France, in an attempt to frenchify the architecture of the city.

Agreed - hard to believe it was only 7c out there - whew. I imagine you have to drive from your house to the beach, correct?

I'll be headed for a beach holiday in July - the water temp should be around 28c or so....lol.

Yeah it was very cold! My hands were numb!! It doesn't look cold there though.

And that beach is 10 miles from my house so we had to drive there yes.

Yes, I think it was the route of a railway. In between, that section was owned by an electric utility as you can see by the power lines. Other than power lines, it feels very natural despite being not far from towns, to the right is a nature preserve.

That modern glass building in the foreground looks out of place. Are there lots of hints that Nice wasn't French at one time?

Though the photo above is actually treeless. Like the first photo in particular with the outdoor seating, the treed hillside and street and nice buildings. Nice looks like it has very busy streets for a small city, but I suppose that's common for Mediterranean Europe.
