Boardwalk at Falling Creek Falls, north of Lake City, FL
Looks like a nice start.

Lot of forest out there, reminds me a bit like here except for more conifers? Wouldn't have expected skies that clear in the deep south in the summer, but as you said your humidity was low

LOL, I had baggy-ish jeans in high school but I stopped.

Yep, about half and half with the broadleaf and conifers. I think it's loblolly pine mostly, though I'm not as knowledgeable about the trees up here compared to my native Florida.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised about the lack of clouds. It became noticeably clearer north of Valdosta; corresponds with the drop in dew point.

Haha, they're not even that baggy. That pair has lots of holes which make it look that way.
Evening bike ride. Waited out the morning and early afternoon cause it was cloudy, then got busy and didn't have much time just before sunset. Cleared up around 6 pm.
Mt. Tom comes into view:
One business using the old factory building is "Yankee Plastics". Trying to sound New England there... Motor Vehicle Department is also there.
Thanks, but it would be nice to know some more. We also got magnolia trees here in Poland, but this one looks to be evergreen, and ours are deciduous. That is why I'm curious what exact species this is.

Dry spring...dry waterfall. Barely a trickle.
Lots of limestone in the area
Sabal minor understory
Found some shade in the parking lot...was about 95 degrees with 100% humidity

Descending Dowdell's Knob
Another scenic view...not many clouds due to low humidity. Lows 90s with 59F dew point..a lot better than Florida.
Fine dining in LaGrange, GA
Nice pics. Cool to see some familiar sights for once. Can't wait to see more.
Why are you wearing jeans in that heat? When I lived in Florida, I wore shorts just about all year round - I think I went 5 or 6 years without buying a single pair of jeans...lol.

I've never been a shorts person. I think I've worn jeans every day of my life.
Anyway...more photos from today
A nice morning in Roanoke, Alabama...the low was 66F, but was much warmer by 8 AM when this was taken
First stop was Cheaha Mountain. Who knew there wouldn't be a breeze? I have a love/hate relationship with high pressure.
Nice views, though was a bit hazy
Ugh..wish these weren't there
Trail to Bald Rock
Nearing the lookout
Another view lower down
Little River Falls...a nice place for a swim
Lots of people splashing around in the water on a hot day...Huntsville reached 93F with a 61F dewpoint
Entrance to Cathedral Caverns...tour guide was perhaps the most rednecky person I've ever seen
A bunch of rock
Big temp gradient coming up...cave was 60F, outside low 90s
Eh, I had seen enough tall and narrow objects for the day
Corinth, Mississippi. Another clear evening with the low-ish humidity.
Very nice pics - pretty cool to see shots of places I've been. Haven't been to Huntsville, though - need to get that in on a weekender sometime - preferably in winter...lol.
The caves seem nice too - I love doing them on a hot day. The coolness inside feels so good. I've done a few of them in eastern Tenn - I certainly understand the part about rednecky tour guides...lol.
