I know the high temperature today was at least 96°F, but I won't find out exactly what it was until tonight. The forecast high temperature tomorrow is 99°F, with a heat advisory in effect. There's been a persistent ridge of high pressure over the Atlantic coastal South for about a week and a half now, and it's not moving out until this weekend. Temperatures have reached at least 95°F on nine of the last 10 days, including today, which makes this a pretty strong early-summer heat wave.
Check out the funnel cloud and damage from CT. It always seems like Tornadoes sneak their way down in CT without some warning. I wonder if it just looks different on radar, less people reporting it, or atmosphere allows quicker formation.

It's the afternoon storms that come across from PA/NJ that were the strongest. Watch all the wind damage reports pop up. And watch how the strong colors stay away from the immediate coast.
Then watch the line come down from MA in the late evening and also the cells over the Long Island Sound blow up and stay strong going across
I Hate the summer cold fronts They bring the blessing of a refreshing cool spell to areas Atlanta and further north. But all we get is a stronger southetly flow and even higher temperatures
That thing needs to lock in for the rest of the summer. I might need to go to Home Depot and get some rope and come-alongs, so I can fasten that trough down and keep it in place where it belongs.
I'm so sick and tired of being a shut-in - I can't believe it's still only the 24th of June. :/
the same weather pattern everyday, dew point rarely falls below 70F/21C...right now 77F/25C! Yesterdy high was 96F/35,6C and dew point was at 75F/24C that time.
That's not that much, but the continuously pattern of that setup and the fact it's getting hotter and more humid every day, i asume there's a very oppressive summer ahead for DFW!

Yeah, it's truly tough to dig far enough south.. too much friction but cold fronts do cross the south in the Summer. Remember this thread last year? Another Summer Cold Front to the South

LMAO! Good one. Get the heaviest anchors you can find and anchor away down there for me.
Another good meteo to follow on Twitter or FB. Henry Margusity from PA. He's a severe Weather expert.
"I am skeptical of a trough this strong in late June happening. IF it does, it would mean flooding for parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia."
Look at that thing over the Ohio Valley digging the trough down!!
