The coldest place in this province (BC) is migrating south (largely because of fewer weather stations): https://questioningthedata.wordpress...t-place-in-bc/

In Rochester, the warmest June ever also set the June record low. June 1949 had a mean of 73.0, the warmest on record, but also recorded a minimum of 35, the June record low.

The average high that month was 85.5, 3.2 warmer than the next warmest June. Only December 2015 had an average high father above the second warmest month at 3.6 degrees above 1982.

There's some really interesting stats in here, thanks, keep em coming..

Years where there were more 50°F+ days in February vs March

For Hartford: 1906, 1909, 1915, 1937, 1981, 1984 Not common and been 3 decades since.

For Bridgeport:
February 1984: 5
March 1984: 4

Rarer for coast. There were a few tied or close yrs though.

So far:

February 2017: 9
March 2017: 4 (including today, last day for while)

Days (24-hr)/year with temperature (lows) -10°C / 14°F or colder in regional Norwegian cities in 1971-2000 and 1997-2016.
Cold winter days fallen from 30 /year to nearly half in Tromsø!

Same weather stations for these two periods. Airports used for Trondheim, Kristiansand and Stavanger.

Shorter winter, longer summer.

Days/year (24-hr) with at least 10 mm precipitation: Slight increase in all cities except Trondheim:

Can harm infrastructure (heavy rain/flash floods)

Capel Curig in North Wales, which is in a mountain valley but is still known more for really high rain totals than for cold pooling, had a record low of -11.7C from when the weather station was set up until December 2010, with ice days relatively few and far between, until one day the temperature was randomly standing at -15C in the middle of the day:

The official high temperature that day was -5.6C, which I imagine was the 11 pm reading. If the wind hadn't picked up late in the evening it would have been the coldest day ever recorded anywhere in Wales (the record is -8.0C), even though it's not generally thought of as a likely candidate to beat the record.

Hartford, CT

Currently March Average temp is colder than this past February, January, December, and November. Last time March was colder than all 4 months prior was.... NEVER!! (Since 1906)

Avg Temps:

March 2017: 31.8° (as of 21st)
February 2017: 34.3°
January 2017: 32.7°
December 2016: 32.1°
November 2016: 43.8°

The last time Hartford had a March colder than February was in 1984! and it's only happened 3 times since 1906!

The last time Hartford had a March colder than January was in 1950! But its happened 6 times since 1906. Interesting.
