I'm so glad we're being spared this time around. I couldn't imagine getting another foot or more.

I would gladly take it! If they were expecting a foot of snow here tomorrow, most things would likely shut down. But since we're expected to get an icy wintry mix with some level of uncertainty remaining, I still very well might have to go to work tomorrow. Could be a terrible morning commute.

I would gladly take it! LI snow cover is down below a foot thanks to the crappy mild weather this weekend

How are we getting spared? We're gonna get ice and sleet tomorrow morning instead of snow which is much easier to clear.

What Boston is doing...

"Snow melters are melting 400 tons of snow per hour at the city’s snow farms in anticipation of more snowfall"

National Weather Service
An additional two feet of snow wouldn't be more manageable than the small amount of ice we're supposed to get. The ice from the last storm disappeared much quicker than the snow from the blizzard (which has yet to melt completely).

Current Radar, Metars and 850mb temps. Freezing line at 4500' going west to east and unles your north of that line your getting Sleet & Ice. HEADS UP!

When the atmosphere cools enough and the front pushes south more you'll change to snow

And here are the temps. So anyone south of that 850mb frz line with temps below freezing is ice/sleet!

Its in the teens north of I-84 in CT! Still sleeting here! Temp is 21°F! Waiting for the layer above me to cool down enough

Watching the sleet mix and change to snow is truly fascinating. Just think whats going on above your head when that happens.
