I always wanted it... here it is... Upper Low STILL spinning overhead. Backroads getting covered now. But with sunlight up snow needs to stay steady or get heavier, otherwise will melt on roads with air only in low 30s.

Not often you have this overhead so if you're under it, enjoy it!

Case in point... there's not "storm" around here at the surface, it's snowing because of the Upper Level Storm. :-)

New post from WxRisk. Winter over?..Not

https://m.facebook.com/notes/wxriskc...87096241337636

"For those of you who are not knowledgeable about East Coast snowstorms ... or for those of you who may have forgotten because you are wallowing around in the self absorb self centered agony of a relatively mild December... let me reiterate that the big East Coast snowstorms ONLY come about when there is an active southern jet stream. It is the interaction of the southern jet stream ( the STJ or subtropical jet).... which provides the moisture... and the cold northern jet stream (the PJ or polar jet) that provides the cold air for this snow to occur."

Something still brewing for 18-24 time frame. Either 2 storms or 1. Still way out there but conditions are looking good in that time frame for another Eastern US winter storm. There will be winners, there will be losers. Not everyone will get a white Christmas but chances looking good for the East.

Latest Euro has a nasty winter storm for NE Georgia to South Carolina on 21st.
GFS has it for Northeast on Christmas Eve
Canadian had it for Mid Atlantic for 22nd.

Who's got a dart board?! lol

Another cloudy day. This time with a few snow flurries instead of drizzle. Sun forecast this weekend and Monday, good timing at least.

Conversely, bad timing here as usual. Sunny the whole week, cloudy this weekend.
