Unfortunately, I don't have to imagine it Great pictures from Atlanta by the way, especially when you're not here. The news is going crazy with nonstop coverage. I'm just beyond grateful that I took the train to work this morning and didn't deal with all that highway mess. People STILL have not made it home from work, and it's likely they won't be tonight now that everything has turned into a solid sheet of ice.
Update: Emergency shelters have been opened along some major arteries for those who have gotten stranded.

Thanks for the updates.
Here's the radar loop, I made an incorrect statement. Precip wasn't "ending" along the coast, it was lightening. I see more moisture moving in now.
Google Local Storm reports. Sucks that only 500 can be loaded at a time so I pieced together 3 different time frames. Pretty much Midnight January 28 to 6am January 29.
Judging by this, the westward trend of the precip rain/snow line helped NJ/CT/MA get snow but kept snow little north more off the Gulf coast. I do see a lot of sleet/ice reports down there though
And keep in mind, not everyone reports what is falling or what has fallen.
In suburban Atlanta, there were school buses stuck in some places
