I think you're right. That cooler air stabilizes things more. Nice graphic that shows how storms would steer over top and around, missing the West coast... and good point about the north winds and sinking air.

For those not sure... rising air = convection/storms. Sinking air = dry/stable.

WOW! Pretty crazy. I've seen/heard debris travel for like 200 miles I think last year in the EF5's. Was pretty sick if you think about it.

This was a sight for sore eyes. Man I miss snow. I had enough of severe warm season storms and it didn't even hit me yet. Should snow every month IMO so we don't have to deal with severe storms and images like we're seeing.

Those images and storms are contained moainly to the South East. The South West, like San Diego does not have to worry about any of that.

I look forward to the blog, experience, and photos!!

Severe storms continue tonight and tomorrow and moves East. Georgia/Atlanta under the gun tomorrow for Tornadoes! Even North Carolina Wednesday. Thunderstorms up into NJ.

Cut off low in center of U.S now pretty much stationary. Talk about a traffic jam.

Yeah, 3 days of rain coming up, and a few T-storms too.
We need the rain.
Looks like a pretty big system.

Crazy. Poor folks have nowhere to go home to now. Long process to get life back in order.
