had a wall of lightning along the entire southern horizon as seen from my place a couple of hours ago. Very active aswell, constant flashes. Sadly these storms were about 150km away out in the middle of Bass Strait so yer only distant flashes could be seen. Apparently there was 600km long wall of storms stretching north-south across the state earlier. Everyone closer to the city and in the western suburbs is going on about the intensity of the lightning and the wicked cloud formations they had. I have been shafted. Again.
We ofcourse got the left overs. Just some rain and occasional lightning and thunder and yes it is weakening surprise surfreaking prise. Missed out yet again.
Stormwise (and tempwise in Feb and Dec) its been an ultra crap summer. For some reason, the spectacular storms I remember from my childhood don't seem to occur anymore.
OH my!!! I'm glad I don't live in northern Maine. Actually, I HAVE heard that it's beautiful though.
It's not exactly tropical here though either. It's 27 with a windchill of 14. It is SO windy today, but the good thing is that the winds are from the south. That always means it's bringing the warmer temps up this way.
Bydand,
Isn't -20F close to a record low for your area at the end of March? I am not surprised that the temps got that cold due to the deep snowpack. I was visiting some friends up in Carroll County NH a few days ago and the snow pack was quite deep there with about 3-4 feet snow piles along the sides of the road.
Still a bit chilly, but nice and sunny again this morning. Following our snow storm on Friday (where we got 2" or so), Saturday and Sunday were very sunny and decently warm, which melted the snow. Supposed to cloud over tonight and tomorrow is supposed to be 52 with some rain.
Even in Dallas, I lit a fire in the fireplace after returning home from church yesterday!
Oh my goodness! There was no need for fire in Houston yesterday or today I turned on my ceiling fans. Today is not too bad, but as the week goes along the temperature goes up
