I live near the beach though. But yeah, inland is much warmer, which is where downtown is, and San Diego is farther south.

Well, the sun is starting to go down here in Northern Maine and the temp is starting to drop. Down to 19 from 21 just 30 minutes ago. Supposed to be 6 tonight and clear. Winds are finally slowing down a bit as well so the drifting the road crews have been fighting the last couple of days will stop. Winds are supposed to drop to about 15 MPH overnight so it should be a nice day tomorrow. Sunday and Monday nights they are saying below 0 again.

Cannot wait until the nights are above freezing and the snow really starts to melt in good shape. I think the snowbank next to the driveway will be there until the middle of June as it is.

Bydand, could you take a picture of all that snow to show us? I mean, I know there's probably not 181" on the ground, but it would be cool to see how much snow is currently on the ground.

I'll be going to Mammoth Mountain to go snowboarding in a week or two. It's so cold there, I just checked and the lows are in the 20's and right now its 32* but feels like 29*. The odd thing, yesterday's high was 72* at a ski resort...a very nice one too, not a cheap one like Big Bear. That would be weird, snowboarding with ski pants and a T-shirt, but then going outside at night in a heavy winter jacket, a hat, and gloves.

Luckily, it seems to be cooling down for the rest of the 10-Day Forecast with the highest temp. being only 58*, which is tomorrow. Thursday the high will be only 46*. When I go, TWC says the average temps. are 55* and 29*. That's more like it.

I'll try to get some good ones tomorrow, but I did find one I could shoot another one just like it tonight so you can see the difference a couple of weeks can make. This is my porch door, there are 2 steps up from ground level to the bottom of the door. That makes it 16" above the ground, I did keep it cleared off until the snow got even with the top step, then I gave up. the first was taken 22 Feb, the second just a couple of minutes ago (just a month apart). The fresh white snow on top by the handle is from yesterday and this morning. The boys have been out playing so it is a bit packed down, but you get the general idea of how much we have gained in the last month.

Side and back door, that is the front porch door we don't use even in the Summer. You can tell it isn't the main door, it swings out .

Before anybody who doesn't live it every year asks... main doors swing IN, so if it happens to drift a few feet in front of the door overnight, you can still get it open to dig the snow away from it. And yes, I keep one snow shovel in the house.

San Diego is warmer than coastal Los Angeles though. Weather stations such as TWC give the weather for downtowns. Downtown LA is several miles inland and surrounded by mountains. San Diego is right on the coast. Well, there's a small island between SD and the ocean, but not as drastic as downtown LA.
