Pittsburgh (KPIT) already below zero (still slow compared to out west though ). That breaks a 1,078-day streak without 0 F temps and 1,080-day without subzero temps

Yes it is wild but something I've become accustom to I guess. Sometimes it does look brown but as soon as we get rain and 50s the color comes right out.

Wish I can say that pic was enhanced but it was a natural pic. Grass here only goes brown when there's a drought. But it is dormant right now since its not growing.

Those years we had a 4 week+ long snowpack are special years. lol Want to hear something funny? I remember mowing the lawn in January 2007. Usually first mow is end of March/beginning of April.

Want to hear something else? I can take a shovel and till some areas right now.

Not sure it was high or low enough but I do see some bounces. Have you checked the nearest stations to see how low or high it bounced? I do believe in that and my hockey knees agree change in atmospheric pressures/weather will get to some of us.

Nice catch, and Maine at this hour in time. Maybe someone can pull some data from recent temps in Alaska? I'm curious.

I wonder what temperatures would be if 42 degrees above average in January in interior Alaska and the Yukon? I'd imagine below freezing still.

Just reached freezing in central NJ. At 32 F right now.

My splitting headaches are worsening by the minute . I am taking some medicine and calling it a day.
