Farmers all over the place are LOVING the snowpack. (its what they need for a good Spring soil slow melt)

It's dumping big time in Southern Illinois and Indiana! White out conditions and heavy 2-3" snow rates.

"Snowfall rates are insane on east-side of INDY; definitely 2-5 inch per hr snowfall rates!"

Effingham Illinois reported Thunder snow. That's where the heaviest snow rates are as the heavy moisture spins around the low to the West side into cold air.

This is nowhere near a crazy drop as you're going to experience, but when I was in the foothills of the Patagonian Andes of Argentina last January it was in the 90's F in the afternoon and the next evening it was in the mid 30's F with a wind chill in the upper 20's F...and this was during their summer. In between the drop was the fierce rain storm I have ever been in to this point of my life.

As for the current Arctic blast, it is welcomed by me. It will be a very cold two days, but we get a break from the snow. We are going on 20 plus inches of snow over five days. It isn't close to an epic amount of snow, but it gets annoying after a while.
