It looks similar, only this year it's showing colder air and a stronger storm. If they do get a Snowtober repeat, mark me down as the first to post about of the possibility .
If there was 2-5 feet of snow on Halloween, there would be the aforementioned "what will happen in winter if this can happen in October" crowd, but some other people might think another warm winter is upcoming. In that case it would be really funny if the same cold and stormy pattern promptly locked in until the end of March. It would also be cruel to the warm weather fans, but haven't coldies in the Northeast gone through enough cruelty over the years?
Or like last year, it would be followed by a very warm winter and tease the cold weather fans. That would be funny, too.
They were saying earlier that it would get up to 79 on Wednesday. Thankfully, however, that forecast has since been changed and instead the forecast high is 73, the same as the forecast high for today.
One cold month here with no mild weather to speak of. Lowest October max temperature for decades probably, of only 13.8°C. Compare that with the record of 24.7°C reached last October. What a difference. Then there's the 4 degree highs and snow possible at the weekend.
This October will be the 7th colder than average month this year. Since 2008 about half of all months have been colder than average, but before 2007, only about 20% of months were since the 90's, so the UK climate has been cooling quite rapidly in the last six years, as proven by basic data.

That's not true at all. For all the colder than average months there have been many above average months too, you can not cherry pick the colder than LTA months & conclude that the climate is getting colder... Unless you are basing your data on your own personal weather records, which again would make your UK claim untrue.
Well that may be the case up north or in N.I, but down here it isn't the case at all, so to generalise & say the UK is cooling is quite wrong.
