We have a FB group for residents and we have been emailing some of these grocery chains....
Giant is already there off of 210.I am sure Indian Head Hwy can handle it.

Went to NH last night for dinner, the parking situation the is horrendous. We went to leave 4.5 hours later and the parking garage said $18. That is ridiculous, don't think we'll be back any time soon. My guess is even all the new construction won't keep many of the restaurants afloat.

People have been complaining about the high parking fees since NH opened. The restaurants will be just fine. It is unfortunate that the parking is too expensive for you. It's a great place enjoyed by millions.

Still very new but as the poster said they tried it once and won't go back ,that will eventually be a problem.

I have spent over 4 hours at the harbor a few times (recently) and have never spent over 12 to 13 bucks. I'm wondering where they parked.

I was there last night actually and the parking although plenty available to find, it was $18.00 after 4-5 hours for me too. This did frustrate me because I clearly read the notice before parking and it said $12 flat rate after 8pm. I even took pictures of the sign stating this and my actual rate of $18.00 being charged. St. George garage across from the Wyndham.

Sad part is I met someone there and thought about it too late to meet at MGM and park one of the cars there, then drive into the harbor and park the other.

That is a shame. You should lodge a complaint with Peterson, the parking contractor and the state for false advertising. If you really want to get under their skin you can cc Fox 5. If the rates have gone up recently then that should have been communicated to the general public. Preferably in advance but definitely before entering the garage. At the very least you should get some or all of your money back.

The parking definatly keeps many people out of the national harbor. If i want to hang out ill just drive over to jones point park and hang by the water. I kind of wish there was something for everyone at the National Harbor. But 18$ for parking is ridiculous.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it here, i was on oxon hill road right near the MGM casino and i saw a sign for a new development near the mgm for what appears to be townhouses. This is outside of the national harbor which is rather odd they are not being constructed inside , but pushing to the outside.

This is interesting
https://www.bisnow.com/washington-dc...000-0500_dc-re

This is from 2016
Those that thought National Harbor would reach its peak when the 23-acre, 1M SF casino and hotel development from MGM Resorts International delivers may have to think again. The Peterson Cos has unveiled plans for a massive new development spanning 1.28M SF for the area surrounding MGM National Harbor. No work is expected to begin until after MGM delivers later this year, but the plans have been submitted to the Prince George’s County District Council, the Washington Business Journal reports. The development is in the conceptual stages, but early renderings (including the one pictured) offer a sneak peak of what Peterson has in mind. Plans call for a 16-story mixed-use building adjacent to the MGM site. The project would include a 500-key hotel, over 700 apartments, timeshare rentals and 22k SF of retail. The massive project would also include 22k SF of “entertainment-related space,” restaurant space and an enclosed walkway to MGM. MGM National Harbor, which is scheduled to deliver either later this year or early next year, will be quite the draw once the doors are opened. The hotel and casino development will feature world-class restaurants, high-class shopping and entertainment worthy of a spot on the Vegas strip. [WBJ]
