These Janaury warm-ups are economy killers for the snow games. Snowmobiling has been dead in the NEK for 2 years now.....we need the revenue from winter for many local businesses.

Even the friggin' XC trails are shut down.......

It's going to get chilly again, but no snow. The weekend looks crazy as well. Cold then warm then cold.

This is a smiliar pattern to last year.....December snow, decent start to a base, then a warmup with some drizzle and the base is gone. Then we got temps in the normal range of 0-25 for a few weeks but every precipitation event went right up the Champy Valley.....NEK was hurting for snow, and here we are again with the same issues...... :-(

Snow is back right now in Fayston. Not a ton but it's coming down.

Southern Vermont, Mass and CT are getting the most from this storm. They are supposed to get 3-6 inches. For the rest of us it's looking like a dusting to 2 inches.

It looks bigger than it is on radar (for northern Vermont). From this mornings forecast, it is picking up all the moisture on the radar, but some of it is evaporating before it hits the ground. Here in Burlington it's just sputtering right now. Our temps are right at the freezing mark and one second it's a mix then back to snow.

Temps generally in the 20s and low 30s across the state but Im surprised to see Montpelier at 41. Thats gotta be an error with Light snow falling.

precip should stay under an inch so I'm not expecting more than half foot snow anywhere. But sometimes the mountains prove us wrong.

We had sleet accumulation down by the coast. Generally 3-5" across CT. Now raining lightly.

My non-scientific observations (looking out on my fire escape railing) are that as of noon, 3.5 inches snow have fallen (here in Brattleboro).
It's that very wet type of snow that tends to compact, shrink in on itself (don't know the proper terms to describe).
