Default Thaw Coming

Well... if there's any hope of some kind of cold it would be near you guys, not here coming up. I'm expecting 50s here this coming week. But I believe Vermont will feel like Spring also. Thinking Wednesday and Saturday the warmest days in the 30s and 40s.

As far as snow..

Aside from a couple of snow showers here and there, the next bigger accumulation date would be the 11th/12th and again on the 14th.

We have a couple of systems going into the Great Lakes so we have rain coming up as well.

Believe it or not, we need this storm going into the Great Lakes first to crush that pesky SouthEast ridge! Thats been a killer for the East this year.

As time nears I'll post more about the snows coming up, enyoy the warmup. As if we missed it. lol

On the news this morning the forecast for the weekend was 40's statewide and rain. They aren't even calling for a mix.

Tropical Tomorrow, Arctic next week.

So the cold air is still on tap to happen. Stratosphere has warmed SUBSTANTIALLY and what that does is break apart the polar vortex. The split drops south.

So enjoy the above normal temps this weekend and to mid Week. Next weekend looks fridgid. How deep, How cold, and how long it lasts wont be known until we get closer but the temps are going to drop hard after Tuesday.

Here's the Euro for Tuesday morning the 22nd.

We lost all 16 inches in a day. Temps were about 50ish. The only snow left around Burlington is where the plows piled it up. The snowfall (at this same point last year) is officially below last years dismal winter with this warm-up.
We are also losing ice on the lake. Be careful if you ice fish. The Colchester paper had an article before the warm-up. One spot had over a foot of ice and when they went four to five feet over and drilled a test hole, it was only a couple of inches.
