Started snowing here around 10am yesterday and it still hasn't stopped. Looks like another 6-8 inches out there.

We got about 10-12" on the ground between the storm this week and another 4-6" yesterday/last night.

Went snowshoeing up at about 2000-2400' today and there was easily 18-24" of powder up there. Ski area was packed.

Any latest on those well below normal temps that was shown few days ago for this week? I dont see winter for us for next 2 weeks so I'm hoping I can look to Vermont for some cold air.

Almost 40 here right now

It's cooler today than it has been. Last night they were predicting teens, but in the Burlington area we were above freezing. I think today is cooler because of the lack of cloud cover. Sun is out now and the roads are getting fairly dry.

The last 4 days I have cleaned at least 2-3" per day off our snowmobile trailer, deck etc. Totally unforecasted 6-8".....which was awesome......

Cold day and very cold night tonight here. Its actually been about 1 yr since we had lows in the teens and single digits here.

Here's the current temps across New England. The colored background are the 850mb temps which is 5000' elevation. We rarely see whites come down which are -20-30Celsius! Usually when its cold above it translates to a cold surface as well. Thats why its in the single digits there already.

BTV Discussion

"AS OF 345 PM EST WEDNESDAY...SKIES ARE ALREADY BEGINNING TO CLEAR AWAY FROM THE LAKE THIS EVENING...AND CLEARING SKIES OVERNIGHT WILL ALLOW TEMPS TO DROP FAST AND FAR. WINDS WILL ALSO WEAKEN AS SURFACE HIGH SETTLES OVER THE NORTH COUNTRY. WITH ARCTIC AIR MASS IN PLACE OVER SNOW PACK EXPECT THE COLDEST NIGHT OF THE SEASON THUS FAR. EXPECT AN OVERNIGHT LOW AROUND -9F AT BTV...AND DOWN TO THE NEGATIVE LOW 20S AT SARANAC LAKE WHICH WILL LIKELY BE OUR COLDEST SPOT. THE COLD TEMPERATURES OVER LAKE CHAMPLAIN MAY PRODUCE SOME INSTABILITY BASED LAKE CLOUDS AND VERY LIGHT FLURRY ACTIVITY WHICH ARE INCLUDED IN THE FORECAST OVERNIGHT."

Still showing -16F on wunderground! I thought it'd warm up a bit since it was dark ~3 hours ago!

Interestingly, Stowe Mountain Resort was showing warmer at summit that at base a little while ago.... -9 at base, 0 at summit. I couldn't remember what that effect was called though lol.
