Yes this is Calcutta - City of Joy !! Vidyasagar Setu-This is one of the newer bridges across River Hooghly and we get a glimpse of magnificent Victoria Memorial. Calcutta is unique due to their iconic Yellow Ambassador Taxis (50s model-many on the bridge).
Ja. Jena. Home of Carl Zeiss and that company’s 100+ years of the best optical lenses on the planet. The University at Jena was the birthplace of the German Romantic “Bromance” of great literary artists Goethe and Schiller. The Zeiss Optik Building 15 was the first high rise in a Germany. It is at right center in the picture, and I thought it fitting for the Ur-post title. I had the great pleasure of taking a seminar at the university shortly after the fall of the “Iron Curtain.” And lots of Bier and merriment with the folks in the Umgebeit. The Jena/Weimar/Erfurt metro area has a quite positive historical legacy. I am glad to highlight a part of it. Excellent eye, SluggoF16. Though the Germans would be offended with the Poppin’ Fresh cookie roll reference... Your turn...
