Then I'll post another. The clues are: There is an important military base nearby. And blogs regarding assignment to this base include warning to young spouses of personnel assigned there, "The first day you're there, you will sit in a room and cry..." Other than a couple grain elevators, THIS is the skyline.

How did you get that so quickly? Other than the fact that I pretty much gave it away because the place is completely depressing. Cannon Air Force Base is not the end of the world, but you can see it from there at the Caprock. I drove through there a few weeks ago on my way back from Tucson, and my wife and I both agree that it's definitely not a retirement place for us.

^ Kind of a process of elimination. The military base clue was a starting point. The buildings to the right looked southwestern. I started checking smaller cities located near a military base in that part of the country. Finally stumbled on Clovis, but I still wasn't 100% sure, so it was kind of a guess.

The monument looks like Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.
