The less people who know what happened, the more likely it is to stay a secret. The "Smoking Gun" in all of this, is really the rambling, bizarre ransom note. A killer would not have written a convoluted ransom note. It would have been kill, and leave.

Also telling, is that the child was found with a white blanket covering her, a killer would not have cared enough to place a blanket on her. Only someone who cared about the child, and had guilt, would have covered her up.

A child wrapped in a blanket is a tell tale sign of parental involvement.

Agree, but one of the parents probably did that, after they found her dead.

No, they stated she was found with a white blanket over her face and body.

A true sociopath killer, child molester, would have taken her, and spent time killing her. Even if an intruder killed her in the home, which I find very unlikely, there just was not a timeline for that. Killers don't want to be caught, how many killers will break into a home, take the risk of abducting a child from her bed, and taking the time to do an elaborate staged scene, with ransom note, and undressing a child, killing her, looking for the weapons, to create a garrot, and killed the child.

Just too much does not add up here.

True about the blanket--never thought about that. What psycho would wrap a child, after molesting and killing, in a white blanket? That wouldn't have happened.

Exactly. Molest, kill, leave. And Jon Benet was not molested by a person who was in a hurry. The touch DNA is not even relevant. If she was moved, molested, killed by an intruder, there would be a lot more evidence than half a random fingerprint, and touch DNA.

And did the intruder bring a white blanket to cover her up? Or look for one in the home, after killing her? Why even bother to put a blanket over her? A true killer would have liked the staged scene to be as theatrical as possible. Not ruin it by putting a white blanket over her....that smacks of guilt.

Read post #924 (and some others by that poster). Horrifying, but it seems likely that this could have happened.

Or that JB was removed from the home that night, seemingly to take photos, while in reality, something else happened that the parents had no knowledge of, and it went tragically wrong. When they returned her body, of course the parents were implicated, and had to cover it up. Hence, the blanket, etc...

Why go back into the house to return the body? No pedophile does that, even the lower IQ ones know to assault and run! I can't see one saying "Oh, let's see, I'll bring the child back into the house, assaulted, now dead, oops, where someone or the parents specifically could possibly see us, so I can be caught."

This entire elaborate garrot may have been a punishment. That was used when the child was bad. I can see this easily occurring. Twisted, but normal to people who think that way.

She wet the bed, she caused her Mother to lose her temper, she needed punishment, again...that girl just will not obey, or do anything right...tie her up, as usual. The norm of punishment in this home, to teach her a lesson. Don't move, or do anything during your lesson...this is part of learning how to be good....twisted logic....the Father probably knew the Mother did this, but put it on ignore, as many spouses of abusive parents do...and Burke may have known Jon Benet was treated differently, but not the extent of the abuse.

The Mother knew she went to far, had to cover it up...thus ransom note...throw blanket over child, disassociate, after all, this whole situation was Jon Benet's fault...

Father supports Mother, out of guilt.

So, where does the skull fracture fit into this scenario?
