And to DANNY, beautiful post!
Research, pictures, and reading it on here. It's obvious just by looking at the demographics. Come on, don't out there like that!

Its not like that dude. You dont know a place until you spend time there. Ask all the questions you like, but when you make statements like "Houston feels more like Chicago than Atlanta" (like you did on another thread), you cant possibly know that and in fact (having spent tons of time in all three) Houston feels much more like Atlanta than Chicago and probably always will.

Nothing is obvious by looking at demographics and pictures. Just visit the place. Houston is a great city (and one of my favorites), come with a clean slate and it wont dissappoint you, but I promise you, if you continue to romanticize like you are, it will not live up to your expectations.

No, I was trying to get it straight.
Why are you coming at me? I try to uplift Houston; I don't mean any harm. I'm not romanticizing, and no city is perfect or lives up to all the expections of a person. Everything in life is not peaches n' cream. I just like underdogs because they seem to be the best choice.

Houston is a great choice, but you are romanticizing Houston. I have seen this so many times before. Im from California, and you have no idea how many people build up LA in their mind of what they think it is or what they want it to be. Then they get there and its not what they had in mind. As a result, they become very uphappy and very dissappointed. For example if you think Houston is more like Chicago than Atlanta, when you arrive in Houston, you will be sorely disappointed.

I also cant see how Houston is an underdog. Houston has everyones respect and a good economy.

My point is this: Ask all the questions you like, but hold off on building it up, romanticizing it, and forming opinions (which you have been doing) until you can finally visit. The reason is that until you visit a place for some time, you cant possible know what it is.

If you love being near the ocean & living in a semi-tropical climate with palm trees & pine trees abound then Houston is for you.

If you can settle for lake water & living on a land locked semi-vegetated prairie then Dallas is for you.

I think Dallas is easier to get around. Houston has too much traffic.
