So I guess that makes Plano & Frisco look like huge sidewalks too? That is ALL they use up there in the North Dallas burbs.

I think concrete is more attractive than asphalt & it lasts a lot longer.

yup, them too.

i used to live right off blanco road in north san antonio and now it's a wide road with new, dark, silky smooth asphalt with bright white and yellow lines. no tacky concrete over there. love it.

i've even seen asphalt that glitters in georgia

How odd that Houston would use concrete over a petroleum-based product - SO readily available that they can smell it!

Houston builds its freeways to last, unlike in Dallas where they're either repaving or filling potholes every 3-5 years.

I like North Central Expressway & the Tollways though, they're both concrete like Houston's roads.

635 west of I-35 & I-35 itself are eyesores.

I think the concrete looks so much better than the asphalt. the asphalt turns gray quickly and doesn't look nice for more than a few months. When the concrete is inlaid with brick, as it is done at major intersections, that is even more attractive

I think you are exaggerating a lot on this one

give me asphalt over concrete any day. asphalt looks more natural. more normal. all that concrete in houston makes it feel more suburban than it already is and gives it that fake feel
