Anyone can ask for a price - whether or not that asking price is actually met is what actually determines the value.

Nobody on this forum can afford either house, but it is cute when people post things like this to act like it means anything substantive about either city. Rich people in Dallas are generally flashier than rich people in Houston. That's far from breaking news.

But nice try anyways.

By Far?????...OMG

The article being old has nothing to do with this...BUT.....This Old article shows that Dallas had real estate Two years ago that asked for 135 milion......42 million dollars is the most in HOUSTON'S HISTORY of existing...

Lololol... Oh boi. I wonder what the most expensive house to sell in Dallas sold for and what the other most expensive asking prices are.

The median income is pretty close, the mean income is not all that close (~5K difference in 2012). There are all sorts of statistics if you care to pay attention to them.

You can talk about an unsold house all you want, but the statistics about luxury housing (also located earlier in this very same thread) says Houston is the largest luxury housing market in the state.

So let me know when someone actually pays anything close $135 mill for that, or any other Dallas-area house.

And even if Galveston's fate seems to be coming closer, that won't stop developers from rebuilding and rebuilding!

I was in Houston for the first time last weekend. How do you guys stand that humidity? Dallas at least has a dry heat (relative to the east coast and the gulf). Also, the streets and infrastructure seemed grungy compared to Dallas. Lots of litter too.
