Lengthy plateauing process. Hospitalizations are still increasing. Deaths likely ~100/day now.

Gov't officials, & ex-officials, are coming out now and saying covid numbers were grossly over-inflated. I saw that coming.

Much of what we've been told, turned out to be lies.

Why should I believe any of the #'s in this thread?

What proof is there that they are accurate? Who is auditing them?

Hospitals are being paid for each covid case they report, so why wouldn't they over-report? Is there ANY oversight?

The death rate per million, and death rate per case is miniscule, & its plummeting because Omicron is a mild cold for nearly everyone.

The death rate for healthy people <60 years old is also miniscule.

So, miniscule before we take into consideration that they have been grossly over-stated, so we are 1/2 of miniscule.

An old fat person with 4 co-morbidities goes into a hospital for 1 of those 4, & gets written up as covid. That is where many of these hospitalizations are coming from.

Magically, almost nobody is dying from heart attack, stroke, COPD, regular Flu, or anything else right now...why?

If you are 60+, obese, & have multiple health issues, then be very scared. Do you fit this profile?

98%+ of new cases are Omicron, & Omicron's death rate is what? What %? What % of healthy people <60?

If you are <60, healthy & have been vaccinated, your chance of dying of Omicron is too low to worry about.

Today's Update from Sarasota Memorial Hospital

Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Sarasota & Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice
COVID-19 Patient Update
Includes hospitalized patients who are positive for COVID-19 and those cleared of infection but still hospitalized at SMH facilities.

Total COVID inpatients today: 171 (172 yesterday)
COVID patients in ICU: 21 (25 yesterday)
% Unvaccinated Inpatients*: 61% (updated weekly on Wednesdays)

* We categorize patients as “vaccinated” once they have received the required primary dose(s) of a COVID-19 vaccine and 2 weeks have passed since the final dose. At this time, we do not require that patients have booster doses to be categorized as fully vaccinated. An increase in break-through infections is expected as the Omicron variant spreads and immunity wanes among those who are high-risk and those who have not yet gotten a booster dose. COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots are still the most effective method in preventing severe illness and hospitalization.

COVID-19 Test Results
SMH positivity rate: 27.8% (28.1% for week ending Jan. 7, 2021)

Cumulative COVID-19 Cases:
Total number of patients treated since outbreak began.
Patient admissions: 5,264 (5,234 yesterday)
Patient deaths: 543 (541 yesterday)

This is a well balanced article that goes into detail on whether Omicron is mild (or not).
