I'm thinking about moving to Inland Empire area from Ohio. I have heard a lot of good things about the area. What would be a good neighborhood with homes that are reasonably priced. How are school system(s). I need to know more information before I make the move.

There are smatterings of nice areas all over. Probably the "best" overall would be the Temecula/Murrieta area(I don't consider that IE, but it's Riverside County nonetheless). Corona, Rancho Cucamunga, and a few other areas are pretty nice or have pretty nice areas as well

"Inland Empire" is a HUGE area... it stretches from western SB County to the Coachella Valley to Temecula to arguably even Barstow.

Do you know where you might move to?

I've lived in Beaumont for 22 years. We're between San Bernardino and Palm Springs. Moved here because it was a small town with good people. Well today it's not so small but all in all it beats the heck out of San Bernardino, Ontario, Temecula, Riverside and Victorville which are all overcrowded. We do get the wind because we're in the pass area but it keeps the smog to the west where it belongs. Can't speak for the schools personally but every one I know with kids like the schools here. What are you looking for in a community? What type of work do you do and are looking for?

Housing is on the rise out here but is still reasonable compared to the rest of the IE.

I'd give Victorville (boring) and San Bernardino (crime) a pass. You know there are mountain areas too?

Victorville and San Bernadino are sperated by the mountains and you need to travel over it to get to Victorville; keep that in mind if you work in San Bernadino...I like Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Upland, Alta Loma; none of which are considered cheap places to live. The IE has some very bad areas/poor areas and it all depends on what you want or can afford. As far as schools, Chino Hills is in the Chino Unified School district and is always rated high..I can't honestly speak on the others...

The cities I would check out would be Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga in San Bernardino County. In Riverside County Temecula/Murietta, Corona/Norco, Eastvale and of course Riverside.

^ That's a good list, although you're going to want to know which neighborhood to look for when in Riverside. Canyon Crest, Woodcrest, Wood Streets, and Downtown Riverside (I'm talking about the historic houses west of Downtown below the base of Mt Roubidoux) are nice.

I just relocated to Redlands from Allentown PA and I can tell you it's a nice safe friendly place to live this far :-) I've heard some not so great things about San bernardino but I'm sure there are some nice areas.
