Perhaps a not so innocent look back at young adulthood in San Antonio when free beer could be had at the Lone Star Brewery.
Free drafts could be inside at the brewery at the long bar at the Hall of Horns, the sampling room of the brewery. A great time.
Barkeeps , dressed in period dress and the string ties of the 19th century were always good for a few
rounds.

Default What year?

Great Picture Rancho, except what year was it taken? It would be interesting to place the year it was taken. 1970?
Nowhere is a car in the picture to so as to give it a rough date. You should have added a model year of that era into the picture so as to be able to date it.

It looks to be fairly recent. That's Marriott Rivercenter in the background isnt it?

Here are some more:

Inside the studio where I was cameraman for the 5 & 10 news.

This is the "live" truck that went to the various locations & was like a
portable TV station that brought you the events as they were happening.

I spent about 28 years here. This was like a second home for me.

Note: On the other side of the building in the background was Durango Blvd.
I mentioned this because on the night that the mighty SPURS won the
World Championship...leaving the station downtown took me a couple of
hours because of the traffic all over downtown celebrating the win.
I was tired after a long day but the victory was worth the wait !

I remember them building KWEX. Must have been 1960-ish give or a take a couple years. International Inc. was across the street in a small building. Right after or during the building of KWEX they relocated to S. Alamo and E. Guenther. Still there today as Insco Inc.

I have moved props into KWEX and KLRN studios in the distant past.

This building on King William near S. St. Mary's was known as "Washing Machine Parts". Maybe even called "Texas Parts" at the time. (60's -70's). They moved in the late 70's or early 80's to a location south of Pereida on S.St. Mary's. Renamed "Central Supply". In the 90's they moved north to Nakoma and renamed "First Source".
