I made this for everyone who remembers downtown Joske's by the Alamo.
Sitting atop the building was the facade of Santa welcoming all to visit
FantasyLand on the third floor. The basement cafeteria was where I enjoyed
breakfast tacos. The Camelia Room in the 4th floor was more "fancy".
There were no malls back then . All the major stores were downtown &
most decorated their display windows for the holidays. Houston & Commerce
street corners were decorated with Christmas lights as well.
This is all "gone but not forgotten"...

Huck,

Not being up to date on San Antonio beers, Lone Star, Pearl, I don't know if they even exist any longer.
(May have gone the way of Falstaff...!)

The only thing I drink these days, if and when I drink at all, is Shiner Bock. Available nationally but on a limited
distribution basis, i.e. "Boutique" beer departments in up-scale stores. Last 6 pack was near $8.00.

Default Again,

Does anyone else remember?

POMAC.... the "near beer" drink made around the 60s ?
was light colored, sort of like the color of Miller High Life. Came in a clear
amber glass bottle.
Some of the older guys said it contained some alcohol. It was all myth & the
the taste was...
