Well the Monthly BOD Meeting is Monday night. I've got some mixed emotions about what might be said. I have a feeling that it may turn into a Shouting Match or Good Ole Texas Pissing Match.

I too have the same concerns as 95% of the folks that post here. I have been upset about some of the decisions that have been made and /or will be made. The Fence Project still sticks in my crawl and I have problems with the proposed salary increases just to name a few. Our operating budget is like that of a small City and I'll bet in some respect's salaries are higher. I can accept salary increases if the individual(s) are earning it and there is visual proof.

I did hear of some Community Improvement Plans and far as Landscaping of the Clock Tower and Monument areas. That's a big plus for myself and I'm sure many others'. I would like to see grass in the median instead of weeds. I have voiced that concern with the previous Community Manager and as you see there are still weeds that we are paying approx. $60,000.00 yearly to mow.

I have come to my senses and realized that there is no group here in Westcreek that can have the BOD ousted. As someone stated sometime back the is too much apathy here in the VOWC. We have to face the facts that there are Families that will live here for 3-4 years and then they are gone. I would think their main concern is getting a good return on their investment (home). I have neighbors that have said over and over again that they are unhappy about certain situations / items and when I ask if they have contacted the HOA Staff , BOD, BCSD, Garbage Companies, etc. there is always a quite NO. I know there are many folks that have their own little stamp on the street and that's their only concern.

Many of you have heard the phrase "It is What it is". Any changes will have to be at the 2010 Annual Meeting when we elect new BOD Members. Until then we can only hope that the right decisions are made.

I had told you this in the beginning. These are amateurs at work (those trying to do away with the BOD) ...and there are indeed, a ton of relo's here. Glad you smartened up.
Most of the other things in your post, I would tend to agree with.

I agree with Lil, thanks for all the feed back. One thing I have noticed around here the more you do something the more popular it gets. The Christmas Bazar keeps growing each year. We only ended up with three vendors who did not show, a few others were late, but they made it there. This is something we need to plan for again in the future. I realized last night I was up agianst a great day of weather, the OU-Texas game, the diabetes walk downtown and the Spurs 5K at the ATT Center. It's hard to compete againist Timmy and the rest of the Spurs. I want to thank everyone who came out and participated in what ever way you did. Next year will be bigger and better.

Good Evening,

I'll still go if I'm able. Not to participate (not speaking or giving anyone my minutes), only attend. Hopefully some good will come out of the meeting for everyone. (BOD and Resident's)

We know how hard it is to put these events together, and that not everyone will be happy regardless of the outcome - BIG THANKS for your hard work! We had fun!

Looks like I wont be able to attend the BOD meeting tonight. I have another meeting that only happens once per year and they just announced (a couple of days ago) that the date is tonight at 6...same time as the BOD meeting.

Well I just returned home -SAWS Emergency called me away from the meeting. I will catch heck for this but during my time there it was a flop by most of the Homeowners attempting to put blame on the BOD. *Before I start I had a hunch that we were noT going to be able to "yeild our time to other speakers" .There has been too much said, too many emailS sent, and of course we all knew it would somehow someway get back to the BOD.

I have read that post that was spoke about several times and in was written in haste ten fold. For the life of me I can't see how so many hHomeowner's would think that a BOD Member wrote it. I was offended when it was stated it came from a Black Person. Many Homeowner's also took offense to that.

I do not know why Homeowner's think the HOA can do anything of folks speeding down neighborhood streets. Although I had to answer a telephone call when my name came up (I never intended upon speaking -I just signed up as an attendee) I was going to tell those Homeowners' that the BOD can't put up speed bumps. They can request a speed study but that's all. The HOA does not own the roads, the county does. By now Homeowners should know this. If anyone wants speed bumps they need to contact Rene Greeen, BC Engineer or better yet Sergio "Chico" Rodriguez our County Commissioner. They need to be told there was a speed study and let them take it from there. *Trust me on this. Our HOA did not state that the speed bumps slow down Emergency Vehicles. We tried to get speed bumps in our previous Subdivision. BC gave us that excuse. The speeding was stopped by placing more stop signs.

Concerning the street lights. I am as guilty as several thousand other Homeowners' who failed to return the vote for the lights. We were not willing to pay for the light installation, maintenance, and monthly electrical bills. Either we pony up and pay for the lights or wait until the COSA takes us in and we will then get them then.

About the only thing I was impressed with were the two gentlemen that spoke about their neighborhoods (Villages) and the fact that they are kept clean, residents talk to one another, and look out for each other.

I'm sure I missed more excitement when I let. Please fill us in.

Thank you.

There needs to be some changes but you are correct that people don't know what is and what isn't the responsibility of the HOA. Gotta know what you're talking about otherwise, you're just blowing smoke.
