Meh. Just because it's a deal doesn't mean it's worth buying. Do your research on HP... The tablet doesn't (and cannot) work with Netflix. Streaming options are limited. No new apps or updates to the interface are coming. It's dead in the water. Why buy into dead tech when you could get another brand of tablet for just a bit more money? A brand that will continue to update their system and expand capabilities.

For those who really want one, I also hear that OfficeMax is a great place to snag one. No lines. Lots of stock.

PS: Funny about OfficeMax. They're showing up as 'in stock' online and folks have ballyhooed about finding one there instead of the near-totally sold out status of all Best Buys.

There's all sorts of interesting reading on the Internet right now. Some speculating this was a brilliant marketing campaign on HP's part (at least 500K sold in one weekend!), while others are calling them the biggest idiots in the world for dumping a product less than two . Others are working on porting Android over and some even claim it's already been done. No matter what, it's a tablet for $99/$149, which is a no-brainer in my book. I'll buy more if I can find 'em.

Yeah, it's a brilliant way to offload a dud product. They're not going to change their minds about WebOS because of this.

Too bad. WebOS is way better than Android or IOS. Just a bad string of luck/marketing for Palm. Not sure what HP is thinking since their computers seem to sell really well and offer some of the better computer UIs out there. Maybe they're just spinning the computer operations off - in which case the tablets may yet have some life on WebOS.
