I think your criticism is misplaced.

It will take another 10 years before the old, angry, “confederate” guard in the NC GOP dies out, and is replaced by the more progressive demographic. When that happens, you will see the big tech companies consider NC. Sorry, imo it’s the foolishness of the GOP. That stupid bathroom bill cost the state billions and still effects business decisions.

But NC has a ton to offer, especially the Triangle area. Hopefully the loss of Amazon, and this slap in the face from Apple will lead to better decision making from NC.

The slap will not matter.
The "Big Fish in Small Pond" Rural Party caters to envy of the economic successes in the larger cities.

Yup it must be politics. Probably has nothing to do with the fact that both Raleigh and Durham barely even resemble a city compared to something like Austin.

And that's fine, and part of the reason why many move here. If people want Austin or the Silicon Valley, they're lucky because they have lots of options to move to!

Apple is building their new Austin campus off a highway with no public transportation options...

Outside of a large city core that is much different than Raleigh or Durham and attracts different people.

I wonder if Austin will consider a commuter rail spur to the Apple campuses now.

Not true. Light rail runs very close to the new site.
