Thanks guys. I did check Fishin Franks, great place....but they had quite a few different guys in the area, was just wondering if anybody used any of their advertised charters (or others) and if you liked/disliked them...first hand experiences would be great..If not no big deal, I'll flip a coin .

P.S. the snook are all over the PC canals at night lately, can hear their "tailslaps" under the mangroves...most I have seen/heard all year.

Finally finished the release well project. Got new Atwood Tsunami 800 gph pump installed. Received new timer module for automatic variable baitwell time and got that installed. Would have rather been out catching fish but theis will make that more enjoyable next time.

Gag grouper season opened yesterday. Anyone go out yet? Anyone want to? Tomorrow's football day but I'm thinking next Saturday.

YES YES YES I want to go! I'll cover gas, food, and beverages!! I've never caught a grouper yet! Next weekend is out for me though, I have to fly back to MI for work for a week, but after that I'm game!
I went out fishing today and caught about 30 pesky sail cats! I need 3ft of water, so no grassy flats or mangrove fishing for me :-( Tried a couple of deeper holes in the harbor, had one shark and one snapper (I think) on, but both managed to get off near the boat.

I'll be out this next weekend too. I have a wedding to attend. After that I'm clear for almost all of October!

Went out to pirate harbor yesterday afternoon.Caught a few small mango's and cats, we were tucked in behind some mangroves and saw a storm approaching but it was faster than we were. Got caught in a bad lightening storm comming back waves were big and in no pattern so we were only able to run between 15 and 22 mph.Lightening was all around. When we were going past the fishermans village a couple strikes were very close.

That's when you pull into a canal and hang out under a bridge until it passes. Safer from lightning, not getting beat up by the waves, and stay drier. Glad you finally got to get out though! Now get back to work!

MA, if you recall, I called you when I knew you were out on the water last. I don't remember getting any phone calls from you when I'm out. I post about going out all the time! I've waited for my beer long enough!! PAY UP!

Pat, That was a really nasty storm last night! I live right near Fisherman's Village, and that storm had my dog scared to death. He was plastered by my side. Ton's of lighting! I feel sorry you were out in that! HH was right, you should have found a bridge to hide under when you saw that one coming! And, I agree with HH - get back to work!

There was no place to hide !!! When we came around the corner by Punta Gorda the lightening was striking all over and extremly close. Then at the ramp I was standing in knee deep water cranking the boat on the trailer and it hit so close the thunder was at the same time. Then into the jeep with no doors or windows it was a wild time. And I am at work. Just got done cutting 60 lbs of grouper and 35 lbs of mahi now I am eating some scallops for lunch. I actually get a day off tomorrow. first one in a long time.
