I'm planning on fishing Saturday. Hoped to go way off shore for grouper but winds are forecast 15-20. Will likely stay in and look for Red Fish.

I love it when a plan comes together. 26" here, also landed a 23" and released 5 sail cats; all in the cutoff, all on cut Ladyfish cast into the mangroves on a rising tide. Tonight's dinner: Broiled Red Fish with Red Beans and Rice.

If I'm looking a little thin in the skin, it's because I've lost 39 lbs in 12 weeks.
Lots of walking, 25 miles a week, and eating lots of the fish I catch. Same old baggy Fishin' shirt, though.
Trying to lose 85 lbs this year and keep it off.

Had a bonfire tonight at my house. A friend of mine showed me a pic on her iphone from her facebook page with a huge redfish. MA, it was that exact pic you just posted. I had to laugh a little and said "I think I've seen that guy, but he must have lost some weight!". I guess she got it from FF's page? You must be famous

Nice fish! And congrats on the weight loss!

Nice fish MA. I'm eating the fish I catch too, but haven't lost any weight. I wonder if it has anything to do with the tater salat.....and beans.....and beer??

Nice fish MA! My daughter is coming today for a long week. I'll be going out with them a lot. We should plan a trip over the next few weekends when your in town and go fishing - it's been a while.

Nice Accomplishment on the weight loss too - you have to feel a lot better.

Thanks all....fished the same spot in the Myakka today...no Reds. Only cats, skates and small sharks.

BH - I'd love that. If the winds lay down, we could go get grouper. My freezer is down to 19 pounds of grouper, 3 pounds of redfish and 2 pounds of sheepshead. After walking 10.2 miles this morning and stand up fishing for 5 hours today, I had my first cheeseburger at home tonight. First one in over 3 months. Still stayed way under my net calorie budget of 1660. If anyone's interest in the free app I'm using, it's called "my fitness pal."

Does it make exceptions for beer?
