Uh, in case you haven't noticed, I'm not the only one who took strong exception to stuckinseattle's comments. The consensus is that he's the troll. Trolls don't 'stay in the fight", they make an inflammatory remark and watch the fireworks.

Maybe check the TOS before you accuse someone of something here.

We just don't like whiners, that's all. Oregonians are generally tougher people, when it comes to the elements. And yes, it's an economic fact that Californians brought their recession north, ruining the economic lives of a lot of Oregonians. Expect resentment, and take it in stride.

Or make sure you have an Oregon license plate, and lie a lot.
Thanks Yankeemama, troll or not this will be my last exchange with him, at least on this subject.

Yes I realize Oregon is a blue state, it’s one of the reasons why I tolerate the weather and the Prop 8 vote will be California’s everlasting shame. Point well taken.

I don’t generally ‘whine’ about the weather, but I will respond to the occasional post that seems to downplay it for the benefit of those who’re asking for information on Oregon and may not know about it.

We’ll have to agree do disagree about ‘California’s recession’. In reality it’s the entire country’s recession, but California being the accepted whipping boy for Oregonians’ problems, I understand.

I have an Oregon plate, but I’ll be damned if I’ll lie about my love of California. And any Oregonian that has a problem with that can kiss my you know what.

I haven't seen an Oregonian downplay the weather here. You said it is pissing rain 8 or 9 months out of the year, and that's simply not true. If anything, you're exagerrating the rain element to make Oregon seem miserable. I don't really care if people like Oregon's weather or not (hey, more room for me if they stay away), but I do get annoyed with hypocrisy; you accuse people of misleading people ...while you mislead people.

Why does everyone think I am a dude?

I spent another fine day bicycling in the sunshine, and am now drinking wonderful, wonderful Oregon beer.

You clearly missed October 2010 to June 2011! Even long-term residents were telling me that the weather was miserable.

It wasn't miserable at all. It was just a little wet.

That was so bad. I still couldn't drink then (I can't metabolize alcohol when I am nursing a newborn - see, really, not a dude) so it was unrelieved by good beer.

I had assumed that my statements on the weather were clear enough, but since you started hurling around personal insults, let me correct and clarify my claim. Of course it doesn’t rain non-stop for 8 to 9 months, it only feels that way. What is pretty constant for 8 to 9 months is the cloud cover, obscuring the sky and sun.

It’s this cloud cover reducing the available light that causes so many to suffer from the depressive mood disorder referred to as SAD.

Too bad you can’t correct an Oregonian bigot as easily.

Default My 4 Cents....

....to OreeeGone (2): You must find better friends in SoCal that are not so unhappy and love to spread their unhappiness--the coast is beautiful and all our friends in Huntington Beach would never leave. To Dual Citizen CA-OR (2): Don't let the idiots ruin your day--they simply love to spread the hate--don't feed the trolls and they will go away.
