I think both are like alter-America. Australia has a nice climate, but it's so remote. In both countries there is quite a bit of American-style suburban sprawl requiring cars to get around. Obviously, if you're lucky to live in the heart of the cities, they do have good public transportation, unlike the US. Canada also differs little from America I think, so this is good or bad. If you like American-type living and products, Canada offers that with a better government and social services (in exchange for crappier climates...like a ton of rain in Vancouver).

I guess they didn't make any health ratings a couple of years ago when all those old people died from the heat wave in France and the fact that they didn't have air conditioning or even fans.
