Again, might be good to know something about a subject before you make comments.
Pretty much the entire country closes down.
If you're out of the country are you going to fly back?
Are you really paying attention to your work?
When I go on holiday I don't watch the news and I enjoy diving and/or whatever else I'm doing.

Sorry that the world doesn't comply with your wants.

A great number of medical facilities were short staffed because August is vacation month.

How can you revel in a climate tragedy that resulted in the deaths of over 37k people?
Other European countries aren't being touted here as the best place in the world to live.

What did the people of France do when an unprecedented heatwave appeared? They went on vacation!

Why do you wish to excuse the incompetence that resulted in the deaths of thousands?

Clearly nobody asked the rioting car-burning muslims and other disaffected and underemployed youth what they think of living in racist France where all the lazy bon-vivant socialists and cowards live.

UK dead last, rotfl. This "report" was obviously funded by the French ministry.

Oh wow, just what I always wanted. A country that closes down for an entire month.

The country of France isn't obligated to comply with my wants. But they shouldn't expect themselves to be immune from criticism when this lifestyle results in a holocaust.

Again, the heatwave hit after people were gone.

How about that swine flu that killed over 17,000 Americans?
Is that enough dead for you?

Swine flu killed up to 17,000 in U.S.: report | Reuters

The French weren't touting the title.
And the criteria was applied across the board.

No one is asking you what you want, are they?
And again, since you have a short term memory problem, this rating was done by an outside concern.
Duh.

I love that countries close down, people are relaxed and refreshed to work for the rest of the year.
Yeah, I like countries that care for their people.

So, talking about holocaust, how about the 17,000 Americans who died from swine flu?

And this was demonstration of how much France cares?

Thanks, but no thanks.

Calling the French people cowards is simply an uncalled for insult.

And this unprecedented heatwave was no reason for anyone to concern themselves enough to return. After all, the Mommy state will take care of their people.
