You know, apparently people are dealing with it, FOX is the top-rated news station in the country. If you don't like it, don't listen, or get your news of the day from CBS, NBC or ABC, you will find a bias there, as well. I am sure your remote control has more than one channel/station available to you.
There is this little thing called freedom of speech, you remember it, now, don't you?
Freedom of speech does not really flourish in broadcast media due to bandwidth constraints. There simply is not enough bandwidth to include everyone, and ratings are NOT democratic. Freedom of speech is only for those with enough money to gain access to the airwaves.
For example, there is NO talk radio for the bottom 20%.
You can call conservatives racist all you want, but you'd be wrong. True conservatives look at everybody as an individual. We don't buy into the left-wing collectivist ideology that everybody somehow has a neat little group that they should fit in to. When the left implements or advocates policies that treat people different based on the color of their skin (affirmative action?), they're the ones being racist.
Conservatives are not racist, they are classist...while denouncing class warfare. Go figure. Got NIMBY?
Say buh-bye to NPR if the fools try to back door the fairness crap in with localism. I will personally demand air time to eff up their idiotic left wing pap.
I'd gladly say yes to localism and no to NPR. Localism is the only way the bottom 20% will get a voice on the airwaves. NPR certainly does not speak for or to the bottom 20%.
Ever wonder why Air America failed miserably and the left leaning news networks and left leaning news papers are going down the tubes? Simple really. People like content. FACTUAL content.
Conservatives probably have more money than liberals, and therefore are much more attractive to advertisers, which is what counts in broadcast media. An audience of 10,000 high-income listeners beats an audience of 25,000 low-income listeners every day of the week.
The conservative talk show station I listen to gloats in its affluent listenership. Listening to the commercials on this station can lead someone to the impression that mortgages represent 30% of the economy.
I think we should encourage the most radical RWNJ's to keep shouting their message that Greed is Great and all you suckers can get rich if you buy our Magic Elixer. As more and more people lose their fortunes to these shysters the better it is for the rest of us.
When are we going to do something about all the Nazis and racist that have taken over the AM band of the radio? It is no wonder we are seeing racist attacks and abortion doctors being murdered when you have people on the radio like Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Gallager and the like on there all the time spewing hate at certain segments of the country and the President. It is time to start bringing back some balance on the radio by reimposing the Fairness Doctrine.
Just today some racist attacked the Halocaust Museum because he doesn't like the Jews. Immigrants have been attacked, blacks have been attacked, abortion docs killed in church and at home and there is little doubt in my mind that much of this is encouraged by talk radio and its venomous right wing extreme host.

In that case we also need to remove all the rap off the FM dial for promoting the hatred of gays. Interestingly enough per the FBI crime statistics....black males commit anti-gay hate crimes at 5x the rate of the rest of the population.
