It was $30 a carton (ten packs),today it is $38.I hear people saying it is going to be over $60 a carton but that can't be right?$60 for carton sounds too high,I hear it was only suppose to be a 70 cent increases per pack starting April 1st but prices have already increased?
Sounds like the next black market in the making to me and I suspect a prohibition on cigs is next. That'll teach them.
I heard in Tennessee that a carton is going up by 6.40 per carton and the tax on those roll your own cigs is going to triple. So for those folks who smoke out there, check your local laws and consider adding some tobacco to your garden.
In Florida it was $30 a carton, now $38.Is that the increase or is the tax hike going to make it even more? Are the companies raising prices on top of a the tax increase?
It depends on your state. I know the tax is going to go up soon here in Wisconsin on top of the fed tax. It doesn't bother me, even though I smoke I'm trying to quit. There's been a few letters in our newspaper from people talking about the unfairness of it all. I used to think that way, not anymore though. The only thing that would bug me is if they totally made the whole state smoke-free, I believe that should be something left up to the bar owners.
Its fine with me however much they go up. I smoke maybe a couple cigs a day if that.
I never quite understood how people are psychically able to smoke like 2 packs a day & still function. My lungs would collapse.
And I personally think that no one should be allowed to smoke in a public building of any kind (bar, whatever) whatsoever. I think its foolish to think that second hand smoke cant harm others. It's breathing in smoke, people. Pretty much common sense that its probably not a good idea.
The tax law takes effect April 1st,yet prices already increased so what's the deal? Are prices going to increase even more after April 1st?
