The majority of celebrities still smoke even knowing the truth about smoking so they must think it's cool. Some Hollywood movies seem to have cigarette and cigar smoking written into the story in places where it doesn't contribute to the story. Heck, some movies seem to have been written as an advertisement for cigarettes and cigars (Breakfast at Tiffany's, Basic Instinct, Smoke). Personally, I look at it as a crutch. Never smoked anything ever in my 43 years. I especially don't understand the young people of today who start smoking even knowing the dangers. Some daytime talk show did a segment to try to get teenage girls to want to quit. Even knowing all the dangers and seeing a black lung didn't deter them from smoking. What got them to want to quit was when they were shown what their faces would look like if they continued to smoke compared to if they stopped smoking. Want to look young in your later years? Don't smoke, don't sunbath, don't drink alcohol to excess, and don't use illegal drugs. Smoking degrades the calogen around the mouth area causing the virticle wrinkles of the lips and sagging loose jowls on the sides of the mouth and chin. Sunbathing damages the skin leading to a leathery appearance in later years in addition to the risk of skin cancer. Alcohol abuse damages the liver which is the body's toxin filter. The long Ted effects of illegal drugs varies depending on the drug and the length of use.

Horrable habit I picked up when I was young and indestructable, I am paying the price now! NO, it is in no way, shape or form cool!

I used to smoke cigarettes. There are days I miss the habit, because I'm a fidigeter. I started smoking cigars late last year and got flat out addicted to them by April of this year. Had to break that habit as well.

I don't know if its cool, but its really expensive. I've thought about the electric cigarettes, but honestly, you should just avoid nicotine.

Of all the recreational drugs taken in my youth- of all the hundreds of bottles of booze I consumed....of all these vile things- The worse curse on my life was tobacco- This insidious substance still clings to me and sucks out the life force...it is the worst drug...I thank God for strong genetics...I should have been dead decades ago...millions of cigarettes have gone through my body- hundreds of thousands of dollars sent to the parasites in government through "sin tax"- Smoking - wish I had never put that evil bit of dirt in my mouth- I hate being a fire breathing dragon with lungs of leather...and being long in the tooth due to this habit.....PURE evil...
