So you think he should be allowed unrestricted free speech including smearing the reputation of anyone in the courtroom.

A defendant cannot intimidate the judge, jury or staff of the court. The case has to remain in a state of impartiality. Trump by his own accord is threatening that.

What don't you understand? Is it really that hard for you to get? You think Trump can say or do whatever he wants just because he's Trump?

Get outta here.

I'm laughing at you posters who think an impartial jury can be seated.

Again, if I have to pick, I'll choose my Sixth Amendment rights over my First Amendment rights any day.

One lets you flap off your mouth.

One helps keep you out of prison.

No choice in my opinion.

These judges must be scared to punish gag order violations.

$5000 is a joke of a deterrent.
It is, and I do think the judges are handling him with kid gloves. But this judge warned him that the consequences would escalate if he continues. He's been warned before this. In my view this should be his final warning. Three strikes and you're out. The next one involves jail time.

Jailing him for intimidating witnesses to scare them from testifying is not stupid. That is classic mob thug tactics, which Trump excels at. We want to make sure he's not around to be elected again, and this is how you do it.

Well, Trump's constant jawboning certainly isn't helping seat an impartial jury. Thus, the gag order.

An "impartial jury" isn't a guarantee of the outcome of a trial.

Impartial jurors are those who are willing and able to consider the evidence presented at trial without preconceived opinions about the defendant's guilt or innocence, to apply the governing law as instructed by the trial judge, and to deliberate in good faith to render a legally and factually justifiable verdict.

Smart criminal defendants listen when their attorneys tell them that the more you open your mouth outside of the courtroom, the harder it becomes to win inside the courtroom.

You should be grateful to the "marxist" judges trying to preserve Trump's Six Amendment rights. The "marxist" Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that judges can and SHOULD issue gag orders when a defendant (or anyone else) is harming their own legal rights.

You aren’t a lawyer obviously. Gag orders are presumptively unconstitutional.

You can argue with Yale Law school. In this case the gag order is narrow in scope and serves the purpose of the court/case, the litigants and protection of the court itself.
