I’m getting two polar opposite interpretations on what happened January 6. One side claims there were overzealous LARPers (Live Action Role Players). The other is that there were hardened insurrectionists attempting a coup. But I think the truth is somewhere in the vast middle.

No one with an IQ above 50 actually believe it was an insurrection, it's just marketed that way by some for pollitical purposes. It was a protest with low level violence with the only person murdered was an unarmed woman Trump supporter shot and killed by Capitol police while being escorted by other officers.

Why are we pulling this one out of the dead horse graveyard again? Is someone bored? This topic has been discussed and beaten to death at least a dozen times. No one is ever going to agree on what it was or was not. Let it go.

Would it be an injustice if the largest number of those arrested end up pleading guilty to trespassing and pay a fine?

Sadly, when people overrun the Capitol of the nation in an attempt to overthrow an election, interest remains high.

However, if you find the topic boring, you are free to move along.

I don’t think it was preplanned by most of the rioters, except for a few military types who came prepared to take advantage of the situation if the opportunity presented itself.

The problem with 1/6, was that, once the riot started, Trump’s perception of it as far as I can tell was something like this: oh wow, these people are willing to basically attempt a violent coup on my behalf, well everything else has failed so far, I’ll go with it.

HAHAHA an "insurrection" in which precisely ZERO shots were fired from the "insurrectionists?"
